BasilKeys - DCS UFO

DCS UFO is a doubleshot ABS set to be commissioned from Signature Plastics in February 2026. It's my second set design. I hope you like it!

"Is there life out there...?"

Inspired by outer space and extra-terrestrial activity, UFO uses 5 colours from Signature Plastics' library to bring the colours of the cosmos straight to your keyboard. I'm thrilled to be working again with ninjabrer and LéHoy to deliver UFO in the UK, US and EU, and this time we are privileged to have PantheonKeys on board to carry the set in Singapore! Novelties are designed by me, with invaluable input from the community, and will be brought to life by the talented Deadeye.

Kitting renders
These kits are going into the interest check, and may change according to demand. Unpopular kits may be dropped from the buy.

Base
Base has support for most 60%, 65%, and TKL 13 boards. It supports 6u, 6.25u, and 7u bottom row, alongside standard split mods options and UK ISO.

Novelties (placeholder image while Deadeye cooks)
The novelty kit is the star of this show! If it was socially acceptable to force them all into base I would have done so in a heartbeat. All will be doubleshot except for the ISO enter, which can't have legend in the bottom half and must therefore be pad printed with a UV protective varnish.

The novelties are focused primarily on a 7u build, with 1.5u and 1u bottom row keys for a classy symmetrical look. At $50.00 per new mold pricing adds up quickly, and the decision to prioritise Tsangan was based on its majority use on DCS Good Morning.

The alien is named Zlörp, and the cow Bert.

Alt alphas
The alt alphas kit turns UFO into a deep space monotone set. Did you know that by including a tab key in alt alphas, you can technically combine with base to kit an entire second board?* I discovered this from GMK Cherry Love. I think it's so cool. That being said you will want to grab novelties if you want it to look pretty.

40s and QWERTY alerty
UFO's 40s coverage consists of generic 4-key, plus the oft-neglected 1.75u enter and the even oft-er neglected R2 1u backspace. P, L, and M allow for a consistent blue stripe. Given relatively low anticipated interest in 40s, this has been assembled as a single kit of mods and minibars to try and hit a viable MOQ.

QWERTY alerty is an indulgent addition of mine that captures the brightest yellow from UFO and brings it to 40%. It's a microcosm of base!
